Jimmy Choo Launches Project PEP
As the high-heels of international It Girls, it's easy to fall for Jimmy Choo's covetable goods. Pair the accessories with a charitable cause, namely the Elton John AIDS Foundation, and we're downright smitten. Thus is our latest object of desire: Jimmy Choo's new philanthropic collection titled Project PEP, a line of funky shoes and bags launching this November that benefits the Simelela Rape Center in Cape Town. From simple flats and clutches to sky-scraping platforms and carryalls, these accessories prove that doing good is always a step in the right direction.

New York Fashion Week has kicked off

FashionWeek
A week dedicated to fashion has started in New York and will last until February 9. More than 100 runway shows are scheduled for the next eight days. Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Diane von Furstenberg and Ermenegildo Zegna are among those who will show the latest creations for autumn/winter 2007-2008 during the fashion week in New York.

New collections for fall 2007 will be shown at various venues throughout the New York but most of the shows will take place in giant tents in midtown Manhattan’s Bryant Park, the main home for Fashion Week in the city since 1993. Some designers have decided to stay away from the tents, including Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, which turned the ground floor of its corporate offices into a show space.

ZOOZOOM has launched Google map of New York Fashion Week. The easy to use Google map mash-up brings together a New York Street Map and/or satellite image with ZOOZOOM's own fashion show tags. The map makes it easy to find the direction of the show and get directions to and from each show.

The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection Fashion Show is going to take the limelight as the first one in New York. During that show celebrities from music, film and fashion industry will strut down the catwalk in red dresses designed by such American designers as Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Nicole Miller and Vera Wang. The show promotes a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease, and is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

Many interesting fashion shows will take place during New York’s fashion week. Perry Ellis is scheduled to present on Friday’s opening day. Erin Fetherstone will show her fall collection this weekend. Ermengildo Zegna will launch his new Zzegna line later in the week. Some designers like Peter Soronen will show their collections in New York for the first time. Ralph Lauren is scheduled to present his ideas for autumn/winter 2007 on February 9.

If you like the bag then you've got a great reason to look at matching it with the Grear Calfskin Slingback. Made in Italy, these designer shoes are just super chic and gorgeous. The elegant slingback heel in luxuriously supple calfskin, has been crafted with a polished metal stirrup detail at the side for equestrian panache. And don't you just love the point-toe silhouette with adjustable buckled ankle strap. For an alternative look you could consider the Carmen Calfskin Boot in Black Calf. This is a stylish equestrian boot in luxuriously supple calfskin, designed in an elegant round-toe silhouette with tall, sculpted shaft.

Hobo Black
I found this chic equestrian-inspired hobo bag at Ralph Lauren. This designer handbag is available in either Black or Brown with Silver hardware.

Karolina Chiffon Dress Top in Multifeather, ZG by Grimaldi

ZG by Grimaldi
Now the next number that I adore is the super chic Karolina Chiffon Dress Top in Multifeather shown in the pictures above. This ZG by Grimaldi 100% Silk mini dress is definitely super chic and sexy. I love the multifeather color of this dress and the way it fits. It would look great with heels in a wide choice of colors and can be worn as a top paired with a sexy pair of designer jeans and heels.

From the Black Halo designer sale collection I love the Shirred Cropped Leather Jacket in Brown as shown in the pictures above. This designer jacket has ¾ length sleeves and is ruched around the clasp to give it a fun, girly look. The Shirred Sleeve Crop Jacket is an adorable addition and makes the perfect layering piece for the spring and summer seasons.

The New Hermes "Shadow" Birkin

The New Hermes
Just as bank accounts everywhere were starting to breathe a sigh of relief that the era of the four-figure "it" bag had ended, something far more fiscally-fatal (and five-figured) this way comes for Fall: a breathtaking update on the most coveted bag ever that somehow manages to bring it on without blinging it on. "My idea was to work around the trompe l'oeil concept with the Birkin," Hermes designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, recently explained to Harper's Bazaar. "The flap, straps, and clochette seem to have been chiseled in the raw material, the result of unbelievable craftsmanship."

Designer Remix 'Sleevedres' Dress

Designer RemixLove the ruched sleeves, not so much the dress. Love the color, not so much the dress. However I dissect this Designer Remix 'Sleevedres' dress, there are not enough reasons to abstain it out of this week's fashion offender.

Then comes the silhouette. It is not quite a baby doll dress. As you can see, the model looks like she is wearing her younger sister's dress. And to be quite honest, it looks like a dress made for a Dressmaking 101 class.

Designer Remix is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to design. And I do commend them for that. But sometimes they might just pushed it to much that borderlines a tad ugly.

Mary Katrantzou Spring Ready-To-Wear 2010

Mary Katrantzou Spring Ready-To-Wear 2010.

Aside from the usual collections from fashion's top designer and brands, I always look forward to discovering up and coming designers during fashion weeks. I instantly became a fan of Mary Katrantzou at first glance of her RTW Spring 2010 shown during London Fashion Week. Wavy, multicolored, digitally printed with abstract forms made the dresses seem like they are coming to life. The styling for the collection is modern and sophisticated. And I'm still totally in awe, the prints were created with computer manipulation of colors, patterns and an ink jets!

Michael-Kors

Michael-Kors

As for Michael Kors, apparently, the spirit of the 1970s and some fur coats (or jackets) have attracted the attention of this designer in a deep way.

Apparently Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by rustic couture for this spring summer 2010 shoes collection. Karl debuted various styles of clog, some embellished and some very simple. He also had a very plain boot. And lastly he had some beautiful, flower embellished pumps and velvet, ivory heeled sandals.

Shoes 2010

These shoes were seen on the catwalks for autumn winter 2009 - 2010 Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. As we can see, they are not different from the proposals we have already seen in the last winter season.High and skinny boots; vertiginous heels and platforms in shoes. Ankle boots are also a hot trend in 2010.
